Terms & Conditions
These terms cover your use of blackhistorysalute.co.uk and any reservation or purchase of Black History Salute, a Black British history card game. By using the site, reserving a deck, or placing an order, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
Who we are
Black History Salute is a UK-based card game project. For anything relating to these terms, your reservation, or your order, email hello@blackhistorysalute.co.uk. We aim to reply within two working days.
The product
The Vanguard first edition of Black History Salute is a limited run of 500 hand-numbered decks. Each deck contains the 32 figure cards together with the rules of play. Card artwork and finishes may differ slightly from photographs and on-screen renders; numbering is allocated in order of completed purchase, and specific numbers cannot be guaranteed.
Reservations and deposits
You can reserve a deck ahead of launch with a £10 deposit, taken securely by Stripe. The deposit holds your place in the first edition and is deducted from the £24.99 launch price when you complete your order. It is fully refundable on request at any time before launch: email hello@blackhistorysalute.co.uk with the name and email used to reserve, and we will refund in full to your original payment method. Taking a deposit does not form a contract of sale; that happens when you complete your order at launch. Full details are in our Reservation & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms.
Orders and payment
Orders open at launch, planned for 25 September 2026. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and payment is taken at the time of order by Stripe, our payment provider; we never see or store your card details. A contract between us forms when we confirm your order by email. If we cannot supply a deck you have ordered, for example because the edition has sold out or we find a fault, we will tell you as soon as possible and refund you in full.
Delivery
We deliver in the United Kingdom and to selected countries by Royal Mail tracked services. Delivery services, charges, and timescales are set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy, which forms part of these terms. International orders may attract customs duties or taxes in the destination country, which are your responsibility.
Cancellations and returns
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, and you then have a further 14 days to return it. Our Returns & Cancellations policy, which forms part of these terms, explains how to cancel and how refunds are made.
Faulty or damaged goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the deck must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose. If your order arrives damaged or faulty, email hello@blackhistorysalute.co.uk with photographs of the issue and we will arrange a replacement or a refund, including reasonable return postage where a return is needed.
Intellectual property
All content on this site and in the game, including the card artwork, figure biographies, game rules, logos, and the Black History Salute name, is owned by or licensed to Black History Salute and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from it without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use such as playing the game and sharing photographs of your own deck.
Using this website
The site’s historical content is provided for education and enjoyment, and we work to keep it accurate and properly sourced. You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, or submitting false information through our forms. Salute counts and similar features are provided as-is for enjoyment.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable to both of us when the contract was made.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. A delay in enforcing any part of them is not a waiver. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when launch details are confirmed. The version on this page applies at the time you use the site or place an order.
